Statement of Faith

We at Sowers of Hope believe:

• That all scripture was given by inspiration of Elohim (God), and  is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
• That there is one Elohim (God). (Deuteronomy 6:4)
• That all worship is to be directed to Elohim (God). (Exodus 20:3, John 4:23-24)
• That Yeshua (Jesus) is the Word and the Word is Elohim (God). (John 1:1)
• That Yeshua (Jesus) is the prophet spoken of in Deuteronomy 18 and is the son of Elohim (God). (Deuteronomy 18, John 3:16)
• That Yeshua (Jesus) was crucified, died, and resurrected on the third day.  (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Matthew 16:4)
• That the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:8-11)
• That the Holy Spirit dwells in the Believer. (1Corinthians 6:19-20)
• That the Old Testament and New Testament are both in effect. (Matthew 5:17-19)
• That Yeshua (Jesus) did not come to destroy the law but rather to establish it. (Matthew 5:17-18)
• That sin is the breaking of the law. (1 John 3:4)
• That we are saved by the atoning blood of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. (Romans 3:19-28, Hebrew 9:22-28)
• That the 7^th day is the set-apart day that Elohim (God) sanctified and blessed as the Sabbath. (Genesis 2:2-3, Leviticus 23:3)
• That the appointed times of Elohim (God) are to be observed.  (Leviticus 23)
• That no work or transaction of money should be done on the appointed times of Elohim (God). (Leviticus 23 Nehemiah 13:16-17)
• That women should wear a headcover while praying and/prophesying. (1Corinthians 11:5)
• That headcovering is a “visual” sign of submission to the order of creation established by Elohim (God).  (1Corithians 11:3)
• That the headcovering holds no power in and of itself. It is a “visual” sign of a surrendered heart.
• That men and women, young and old, should wear modest apparel that covers their nakedness and brings no attention to themselves. (Genesis 3:21, Leviticus 8:13, 1Corinthians 6:19-20, Titus 2:5, 1Peter 3:1-6)
• That the Word of Elohim (God) should be freely given and not sold for profit. (Matthew 10:6-9, Proverbs 23:23, Isaiah 55:1)
